NEW!.......Exchangeable thermoblocks for Thermomixer comfort (for US Thermomixer R) and ThermoStat plus are now IVD compliant!

The exchangeable thermoblock system for Thermomixer comfort (for US Thermomixer R) and ThermoStat plus ensure a precise "fit" for all common lab tubes - from simple temperature control to complex enzymatic reactions and hybridization experiments, and from MTPs to 50 ml Falcon^® tubes.

The CE symbol stands for the compliance of the exchangeable thermoblocks with the European in vitro diagnostics directive 98/79/EC. IVD is the abbreviation for in vitro diagnostics. IVD products are equipment, solutions and other consumables which are used to examine or test specimens from the human body. The Eppendorf Thermomixers, ThermoStat plus and respective exchangeable thermoblocks are the only tempering and mixing devices on the market which are compliant to this European directive, as far as we know.

In combination with the IVD compliant Thermomixer comfort (for US Thermomixer R) and ThermoStat plus, Eppendorf now offers a certified system for tempering and mixing samples as well as for assays based on in situ hybridization techniques in the field of clinical diagnostics.

Specific applications include:

• Prenatal diagnostic using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) (e.g. diagnostic of trisomy 21)
• Tumor diagnostics using FISH (e.g. diagnostic of HER2 amplification in breast cancer samples)
• ELISA assays for the detection of influenza virus infections
