New Cefiderocol 30 μg disk

Cefiderocol is a siderophore cephalosporin with a unique mechanism for penetrating efficiently into Gram-negative pathogens.
Cefiderocol binds to free iron and is actively transported into bacterial cells through the outer membrane.
This Trojan horse strategy allows cefiderocol to enter the space in-between the bacterial cell walls and disrupt cell wall synthesis. In addition, cefiderocol is stable against nearly all beta-lactamases, including both the serine and metallo-carbapenemases.

Disk diffusion breakpoints for cefiderocol are available for Enterobacteriaceae, P. aeruginosa, A. baumannii and S. maltophilia.

Cefiderocol 30 μg disk (CE marked) is available by Liofilchem in two packaging formats:

1 cartridge, 50 disks
ref. 9266/1

5 cartridges, 250 disks

The Liofilchem CultiControl microorganisms are lyophilized, reference stock culture preparations containing a single strain of a microorganism. These microorganism preparations are intended to be used for quality control of culture media, educational/instructional programs and industrial applications. The microorganism preparations are derived from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) or NCTC (National Collection of Type Cultures, operated by Public Health England).

Lockable contact plates

Septic environments and critical controlled manufacturing areas require maximum security after collecting samples. The new lockable contact plates by Liofilchem avoid contamination by accidental opening of contact plates during the sampling process, handling and transportation. The secure plate lock is obtainable with one hand only, through a gentle base-lid pressure, confirmed by a clear click sound.
